Mohamed Salah has headed home to celebrate with his family after hitting two records in his Liverpool career in the 7-0 wallop of Manchester United.

GWG.ng reports that Salah became Liverpool’s record goal scorer in the Premier League era after finding the net twice during the win against Manchester United.

He also became the Liverpool player to have scored the highest number of goals against United hitting nine goals to overtake the record previously held by club hero, Steven Gerrard

Speaking to Sky Sports on his feat, the Egypt international said:

“It’s very special, I can’t lie,” he told Sky Sports when asked about the former record.

“This record was in my mind since I came here, I think after my first year I was always chasing that record, so to break it today, against United, with that result, was unbelievable. So I’m going home to celebrate with the family, have a camomile tea and sleep!”

GWG.ng reports that with the wallop over Manchester United that Liverpool are now looking forward towards a top four finish, a bracket that they were in throughout the last season. However, in the 22/23 season the Reds have been mostly inconsistent.

Braces from Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez and a last from Firmino without a response from Manchester United is a defeat that will be memorable for the Liverpool fans for years to come and new records for their Egypt born star.
