Fatoki defected ahead of the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections that will take place next week.

His defection increased the number of opposition party leaders who have joined what commentators have dubbed a “political transfer market” and moved over to Governor Dapo Abidoun’s side.

Apart from Fatoki, other chieftains of the PDP who dumped joined APC, include Segun Seriki, Otunba Femi Osifade, Alhaji Saula Adegunwa, Ralph Olaosebikan and Mr Tola Mebude.

Others are the former Financial Secretary of PDP in Ogun State, Bola Odumosun, Chairman of the Elders Council, Alhaji T.A. Olatokunbo, Alhaja Fatimo Sonibare, former chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Michael Agbolaade and former House of Assembly member, Akeem Salami.

GWG.ng reports that the defection of the Ogun Collation agent of Atiku followed the steps of the defection of Otunba Gbenga Daniel, the director-general of Atiku Campaign in 2019 to the APC weeks after the former vice-president lost the presidential election that year.

Daniel was elected as senator on the platform of the APC penultimate Saturday.
