Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau has appointed Mrs Rauta Dakok as the state’s new Head of Service.

The appointment is contained in a statement issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, on Saturday in Jos.

He said that Dakok was to take-over from Mr Sunday Hyat who has retired from service having reached the retirement age and having also served a four-month extension granted him by the governor.

Until her appointment, Dakok was the Permanent Secretary (General Administration) in the Office of the Head of Service.

“A graduate of Law from the University of Jos in 1988, Barr Rauta Dakok started work with the Plateau State Government in 1990 as State Counsel.

“She rose steadily holding various positions to reach the peak of the civil service where she served as Permanent Secretary in various ministries,“ the statement said.  (NAN)

GWG.ng reports that the move by the outgoing governor to appoint a new head of service for the Plateau is one that is bound to be received with mixed feelings across the polity as it was done two days to his exit from office.

However, the incoming governor of the state, Mr Caleb Mutfwang has repeatedly vowed to ensure that the issues regarding the affairs of the state as pertaining to the outgoing administration would be examined without a witchhunt.
