The Senate, on Tuesday, granted the request made by President Bola Tinubu to appoint 20 special advisers.

GWG.ng reports that the approval by the outgoing Senate was made after a request to that effect read on the Senate floor by Senate President, Ahmad Lawan.

However, neither the names nor the designation of the Special Advisers was made to the lawmakers.

The Senate is constitutionally empowered to approve the number of special advisers for the president without screening the nominees.

However, those to be designated ministers and a number of other executive bodies are required to face senate screening.
