Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s media aide, Bashir Ahmad was under scrutiny at the weekend for his reaction as mixed reactions trail Asisat Oshaola’s controversial action in removing her shirt after scoring Nigeria’s backbreaker goal against Australia at the Women’s World Cup game on Thursday.

GWG.ng reports that after scoring Nigeria’s third goal Asisat Oshaola ran to the sides and in excitement removed her shirt but the imagination of some to see beyond that was disappointed as she wore a fitting sports bra.

While many have argued that her decision was reckless given the yellow card that the action attracted, there were some who passed it away on the fact of the emotional stress that preceded her entry into the game.

GWG.ng reports that some had expressed reservation that the Barcelona forward was not putting up for Nigeria as she does in her club.

Asisat Oshaola came in from the bench in the second half and put a dread in the hearts of the Aussies contributing to the second goal before scoring Nigeria’s third goal.

Her action in removing her shirt, however, stoked mixed reactions among Nigerians.

GWG.ng gathered some of the tweets:

However, it was twitter user, William Billy who dragged former Buhari aide, Bashir Ahmad out as the controversy deepened tweeting:

GWG.ng reports that Bashir Ahmad was called out over his past inclinations as most recently in calling out star singer, Davido over his post of one of his signees performing against the background of what was supposed to be a mosque.

Meanwhile, other Nigerians have continued to react to the Asisat Oshaola’s action with hilarity.

Meanwhile, Bashir Ahmad, a football aficionado has ignored the dig, rather tweeting on Real Madrid’s remarkable defeat of Manchester United in the pre-season friendly.
