Fubara ‘Takes’ Over Wike’s Live Band As New Lyrics Emerge (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni
In a new dimension to the political twist in Rivers State, a video has emerged of Governor Simi Fubara being hailed by a live band in the same way his estranged political godfather, Nyesom Wike was so idolised months ago.
GWG.ng reports that only months ago the live band and hypemen who accompanied Wike to occasions would intersperse his speech with words of adulation to him and mockery of his political foes.
A similar form of adulation emerged on Friday as Governor Fubara commenced the construction of a 20,000 housing project which provided a similar platform as Wike almost regularly used months ago to pepper his political enemies with the reprise of the live band.
As Fubara took to the stage to make his address on Friday the live band again burst out with different lyrics singing not for Wike but for the new governor.
“Dey your day, make I dey my dey, nobody worry nobody,” leaving netizens speculating about a nuanced message possibly aimed at former Governor Nyesom Wike by the live band.

GWG.ng reports that during the era of Nyesom Wike’s governorship in Rivers State, a live band was a customary presence at project commissioning events, singing jubilant tunes and showering praises with popular songs like “As E dey Pain Them, E dey Sweet Us.” Now, the dynamics appear to have shifted, with Governor Fubara’s live band becoming a prominent feature, providing a musical backdrop to his speeches.
GWG.ng is unable to confirm if the membership of the live band is as it was with the Wike assemble, but the drama was almost turning the same with the notable exception of Fubara not dancing and openly mocking his political foes.
The chosen lyrics, carrying potential undertones directed at Nyesom Wike, have ignited lively discussions across social media platforms. The comments section reflects a spectrum of opinions, with some commending Governor Fubara’s administration for its audacity in confronting Wike fearlessly.
