Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has put a seal to the declaration of Rep Dennis Idahosa as the candidate of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State by congratulating him on his emergence.

Ganduje has also commended Governor Hope Uzodimma who announced Idahosa as the winner of the election saying that the Imo State governor conducted what he described as a credible primary election.

Ganduje said these in a statement by Mr Edwin Olofo, his Chief Press Secretary on Sunday in Abuja.

GWG.ng reports that the assertions of the national chairman comes in the face of disputes over the conduct of the election with at least three persons being declared winner.

Besides, the state chapter of the party had flayed Governor Uzodimma for supposedly festering the crisis.

Ganduje, however, urged Idahosa to carry other aspirants along, saying this was critical to ensure the party’s victory at the Sept. 21 Edo governorship election.

“At this point, I want to call on all the aspirants to bury the hatchet and work for the interest of the party so that our party will emerge victorious,” he said.

Ganduje also commended the state APC stakeholders and assured them that the party would do everything possible to ensure that Edo was delivered and the candidate delivered.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 43-year-old Idahosa scored 40,483 votes to defeat other aspirants at the Saturday’s primaries in Benin.
