GWG.ng reports that the kidnap of the three students of UNICAL is coming after the university has been in the news over the alleged involvement of one of its lecturers in a sexual harassment case.

The kidnap incident also came just after the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, inaugurated some completed projects that were abandoned at (UniCal) in commemoration of the institution’s 36th convocation.

The projects, which included the Mass Communication Department building, three pavilions for lectures and examinations and two hostels, were financed by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).

Addressing newsmen in Calabar after the inauguration, Mamman said he was quite impressed with the completion of the projects in the institution.
