GWG.ng reports that Jnr Pope lost his life on April 10, 2024, alongside some other crew members when the boat they were traveling in capsized. In the aftermath of the tragedy, details about how Qute Jay, the mother of three, is coping have emerged online.

Just two days after Jnr Pope died, a Nigerian nurse took to TikTok to share a video of his wife, Qute Jay at the hospital. In the clip, the nurse revealed that the grieving widow was unconscious, likely overwhelmed by the shock and grief of losing her husband.
