In a shocking development, Dr. Aisosa Amadasun, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ward 11, Oredo, Edo State, who joined the party with Governor Godwin Obaseki in 2020 has resigned from the party effective immediately.

GWG.ng reports that Dr Aisosa Amadasun was a woman leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC before she joined the PDP.

In a formal letter addressed to the Chairman of the PDP in Ward 11, Dr. Amadasun cited recent unacceptable developments in the party arising from the gubernatorial primaries as the reason for her resignation.

While expressing appreciation for the opportunities she had while being a member of the party, Dr. Amadasun stated that she has decided it is time for her to move on. She also thanked the party for the experiences and relationships she built during her time in the party.

She said:
“My decision is not unconnected with recent unacceptable developments in the party arising from the gubernatorial primaries.

“I appreciate the opportunities I have had while being a member of the party, but I have decided it is time for me to move on. I will always cherish the experience and relationships I have built during my time in the party,” Dr Aisosa Amadasun said.

This development is seen as a significant setback for the PDP in Edo State, as Dr. Amadasun was a respected and influential member of the party.
