Senior Military Officer Catches Corrupt Soldier In Sting Operation (Video)

A senior military officer has successfully carried out a sting operation, catching a corrupt soldier who was extorting money from motorists on a highway. The officer, who remains unidentified, marked some Naira notes with a marker and then disguised himself as a civilian to offer the marked money to the corrupt soldier- GWG.ng reports.

The soldier, unaware of the sting operation, accepted the marked money and was subsequently apprehended by the senior officer. A video of the incident, which has gone viral on social media, showed the senior officer instructing the soldier to produce the extorted money. The soldier is then seen displaying the marked money among his loot, confirming the senior officer’s suspicions.

The outcome of the incident is yet to be revealed, but the senior officer’s actions have been widely commended for his proactive approach to tackling corruption within the military. The Nigerian military has been urged to take decisive action against the erring soldier and to investigate other possible cases of corruption within its ranks.
