Wizkid Announces Upcoming Album In Honor of Late Mother (Video)

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Wizkid has revealed that his highly anticipated sixth studio album will be a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jane Morayo Balogun. In a video message shared on his social media accounts on Saturday, the ‘Ojuelegba’ hitmaker announced that the album, titled ‘Morayo’, will be released “very soon”.

Stepping out of a private jet, Wizkid expressed his excitement and dedication to the project, saying, “My album ‘Morayo’, dedicated to my mum, the love of my life, drops very soon. Don’t dull. Don’t sleep.”

This announcement comes after the painful loss of his mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away on August 18, 2023, in London, and was later laid to rest in Nigeria. Wizkid has been open about the profound impact of his mother’s passing, stating that the pain “hurts deeply” and is “profound”.
