Japa: Shocking Stories Of Nigerians In UK Reporting Fellow Countrymen To Authorities

A shocking trend of Nigerians in the UK reporting their fellow countrymen to their employers, leading to job losses and reputational damage, has sparked outrage online. Two separate incidents narrated on social media reveal a disturbing pattern of betrayal and deceit among Nigerians living in the diaspora.

In the first incident, a social media influencer, @Wizarab10, shared the story of a Nigerian woman who reported her colleague for sleeping on the job during a night shift. Despite getting along well during their shift, she sent an email to their employer, resulting in the man’s dismissal.

In a similar incident, another Nigerian shared a story of a female colleague who falsely accused a male colleague of inappropriate behavior towards a client. The allegation, which could have led to serious consequences, including loss of work visa and imprisonment, was only thwarted because the accused was close to their manager, who knew him to be innocent.
