Japa: NEMA Tells Deportees From Turkey To Accept Fate, Promises To Reintegrate Them

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has promised to provide the necessary support for the reintegration into Nigerian society of 103 deportees from Turkey.

The deportees from Turkey were brought into the country by the Southwind Airlines Flight TCGRB which landed around 7 PM into the waiting hands of NEMA officials.

GWG.ng reports that the promise of reintegration was made by the Director-General of NEMA Zubaida Umar following their return to the country.

The 103 returnees who were also mobilised with transportation to their respective places of abode were assured that NEMA would be in contact with them towards reintegrating them back into society.
A post on the NEMA twitter handle revealed read thus:

Yesterday, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA led other relevant agencies of the Federal Government to receive 103 Nigerians deported from the Republic of Türkiye at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

Addressing them upon arrival, we assured them of the federal government’s readiness to provide every necessary support to ease their re-integration.

The government also provided some financial support to cover their transportation to their various neighbourhoods.

NEMA DG Mrs. Zubaida Umar who was represented by Alhaji Bashir Idris Garga, urged the returnees to accept their experience in good faith and assured them of the government’s concern.

GWG.ng gathered that some of the Nigerian deportees were held in detention in Turkey for up to 10 months before they were returned.
