A viral video sparked outrage among Nigerians, highlighting the stark contrast in fuel prices between Libya and Nigeria. In the clip, a white man visited a filling station in Libya, revealing that a litre of petrol cost a mere $0.02, significantly cheaper than a bottle of water.

The man then visited a supermarket to compare prices, discovering that a bottle of water cost six times more than petrol. This glaring disparity has sparked a heated debate among Nigerians, who were frustrated with the high cost of petroleum in their country.

In Nigeria, a litre of petrol cost around 700 naira, a significant burden for citizens. Many took to social media to express their discontent, blaming politicians for the exorbitant prices.

Read some netizens’ reactions below as they debate the issue of fuel prices in Nigeria and Liba.

@balatic: Reason why anybody still supporting the APC Junta must be treated like the traitor they are 😏

@osamuyi90: Libya refine their crude oil and sell to Europe though they have some foreign companies offshore too but they don’t import any refine products ‘ if Tinubu was smart he would have mandated NNPC to make sure crude oil are no longer exported from Nigeria if not refined ‘

@Nnekanwa: Greedy politicians and leaders prefer to enjoy it enjoy it alone while other Nigerians can go on and kpai , really unfortunate

@unlimitedgp: Welcome to Nigeria my country that will tell you the current price of fuel in Nigeria is the cheapest in the world

@seajuatified: Bro , if Nigeria government is transparent about how many barrels they refine daily, minus oil theft, we should not be paying more than 10 naira per litre.

As Nigerians lamented the high cost of living, the video became a rallying cry for change.
