Denilson Igwe Alleges ‘Monkey Business’ In Mark Angel Comedy (Video)

Denilson Igwe, who claims to be the founder of the popular Mark Angel Comedy, has leveled serious accusations against his colleague, Mark Angel, regarding financial mismanagement and exploitation.

The comedy group, which gained widespread fame in 2014, is well-known for its sketches featuring Denilson, Mark, and the young actress Emmanuella.

In a candid interview on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Denilson Igwe revealed that he was the true originator of the comedy group while Mark Angel managed their online presence. According to Igwe, Mark monetized their social media channels without informing the rest of the team, and he allegedly kept the majority of the earnings for himself, only giving minimal stipends to Emmanuella.

“I was the one who started Mark Angel Comedy. Mark was like the elder brother in our group; he was working as a security guard in Port Harcourt while I was a cameraman for a man named Ifeanyi,” Denilson recounted. “I took his camera and we would shoot comedy skits during our free time. Mark created a Facebook page for us, and I had no idea when it got monetized.”

Denilson further alleged that in 2014, Mark purchased a car, claiming it was a gift, even though the car was bought with the group’s earnings. “I hadn’t received a single penny at that time, and he would pay Emmanuella only N20,000 monthly,” Denilson said. “In 2016, he finally gave me N50,000, insisting that our work wasn’t making much money, even though we were earning about $160,000.

In his emotional interview, Denilson also hinted at the fear and intimidation tactics allegedly used by Mark Angel to silence dissent within the group.
