Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable, has broken his silence after facing heavy backlash for slapping a pastor who was preaching in front of his bar last week.

Tn1he incident attracted widespread attention, and Portable has now shared his version of the events.

In his explanation, Portable clarified that the situation was not just a typical street fight but something with deeper meaning. He suggested that there was much more going on beneath the surface.

He acknowledged that even if the pastor were a true man of God, he believed the pastor had been influenced by the devil that day. Portable expressed regret, saying, “I seek God’s forgiveness because I didn’t know he was a real pastor. If I had known, I wouldn’t have slapped him. It was the pastor’s actions that day that led to the altercation.” He further emphasized that he is only human and not perfect.

Portable also claimed that the entire incident was part of a setup against him. He said, “They wanted to set me up. If something wasn’t wrong behind the scenes, I wouldn’t have acted that way.” The singer went on to explain that his sister had been attacked after people came to his bar, Odugwu Bar, looking for him. When they couldn’t find him, they collected sand from his sister’s footsteps and allegedly used it against her.

He added that what happened to his sister, who had been taking care of him since their mother’s passing, was about to happen to him. Portable shared that he had a dream about it, and the next day, the pastor came, instructing them to gather sand from their homes, fast, and give money.

Portable questioned why the pastor, who had been preaching, only started doing so in the area after his bar was established. He stressed, “I made that place what it is today.” He also mentioned that he had asked the local king to allow other religions to operate in the area, which had been predominantly Islamic before his involvement.
