Omoni Oboli: I Lost Movie Role For Refusing Director A Kiss

Nigerian actress and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli has revealed how she lost a movie role because she refused to kiss a film director.

She spoke about this experience during an interview on comedian AY’s ‘Glasshouse Show’.

Omoni explained that the incident occurred after she returned to Nigeria following a break to raise her children abroad. While auditioning for a role, the director asked her to kiss him, which left her confused.

She recounted, “One director asked me to kiss him at an audition, and I couldn’t understand why. I asked, ‘Is this an audition?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, I just want to see.’ I told him, ‘Sorry, I can’t do it,’ because I didn’t see any reason to kiss him when we weren’t on set.”

Due to her refusal, Omoni didn’t get the role. She added, “I ended up travelling back without playing the role I had come for.”

Remarkably, Omoni Oboli did not come out to name the director who denied her the role because of her refusal to give him a kiss but there is no doubt that whoever and wherever he is that his conscience will be hitting him hard reading this.
