A lady’s frustration has gone viral after she paid ₦15,000 for her niece’s school party, only to be served a surprising and underwhelming combination of bread, akara (bean cakes), a toothbrush, and a plastic cup.

Another hilarious yet frustrating moment has surfaced online as a lady shared her disappointment over the items distributed at her niece’s end-of-year school party.

Despite paying ₦15,000 for the event, the school offered bread and akara (bean cakes), a gesture the lady found both surprising and infuriating.

In the now-viral video, the lady recounted how the school persistently demanded payment before the party, only to leave her feeling cheated. “I paid ₦15,000 for this party, and they gave us bread and akara. This is not funny at all,” she said angrily while narrating her ordeal.

As she continued her complaints, a voice in the background suggested that the school’s poor offering might be due to Nigeria’s economic challenges. The lady, however, dismissed this excuse, arguing that even concoction rice would have been more acceptable. She further revealed that no water was served to complement the bread and akara, adding to her frustration.

To prove her point, the lady opened the nylon bag containing the party items. Apart from the bread and akara, the bag contained a toothbrush and a transparent plastic cup. She expressed disappointment, saying the items did not justify the ₦15,000 fee.

“This is what they gave us—bread, akara, a toothbrush, and a plastic cup. No water, no proper meal. ₦15,000 for this? It’s unacceptable,” she lamented.

The incident drew comparisons to a previous viral story where a woman criticized a school for sharing fufu and egusi soup at an end-of-year party, despite parents paying high fees. In both cases, the schools were accused of poor planning and failing to meet parents’ expectations.

The video of the lady complaining about the bread and akara shared at her niece’s school party has sparked reactions online. While some found humor in the situation, others sympathized with her and criticized the school’s lack of organization.

As the debate continues, many have called on schools to prioritize better planning and ensure that events reflect the contributions made by parents. For now, the bread and akara controversy remains a trending topic on social media.
