Manchester United is considering a move for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, especially with the potential exit of Marcus Rashford in January.

Rashford, who has struggled for regular playtime under coach Ruben Amorim, has expressed his desire to take on a new challenge. This has sparked speculation about his departure from Old Trafford.

According to reports, Manchester United is interested in signing Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli. The Nigerian forward has been in outstanding form, scoring 12 goals in 15 appearances, including nine in the Turkish Super Lig.

United has reportedly made contact with Osimhen’s representatives, and their next step would be to discuss personal terms with the player. However, negotiating a deal with Napoli could be challenging, as the club is expected to demand around €75 million (£62m/$77m) for the striker.

If Rashford does leave in January, it could open the door for Osimhen to join Manchester United and with it add more force to the team’s attacking formation.

Meanwhile, Amorim’s side, who have struggled in the Premier League with three losses in their last four matches, will look to bounce back with a victory against Wolves on Boxing Day.
