Nollywood actress Merit Gold Eberechi has sparked controversy after sharing Christmas-themed photos on her Instagram.

The actress posted images of herself wearing a revealing Christmas one-piece outfit, posing beside a decorated Christmas tree. While some fans admired her festive spirit, the sultry nature of the photos led to backlash from many followers.

In the caption, Merit Gold wrote, “Just me and my Christmas tree. Happy Christmas everyone.” Although she intended to spread holiday cheer, her outfit choice was quickly criticized for being inappropriate for the occasion.

One follower, Rose Okpo, voiced her disapproval, commenting, “Can’t she be decent? Christmas is a solemn reflection of Christ. We do too much.” Another Instagram user, Marbsrex, pointed out, “Na Jesus get birthday, una wan show us yansh,” calling attention to the focus on her body instead of the true meaning of the season.

Other reactions ranged from disapproval of her outfit to more severe condemnations. “This is classless,” wrote Netu Donation. Riri Alice added, “Is this not too much for a Christmas shoot?
