Tony Elumelu Foundation Announces 2025 Application For Entrepreneurs

The Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF) has officially opened applications for its 2025 Entrepreneurship Programmes, inviting entrepreneurs from across Africa to apply.

The foundation, a prominent advocate for entrepreneurship on the continent, offers aspiring and existing business owners an opportunity to receive top-tier training, expert mentorship, and non-refundable seed capital to help scale their businesses. 



Available Programmes: 

1. TEF Entrepreneurship Programme: This flagship programme is available to entrepreneurs across Africa who have innovative business ideas or existing businesses that are not older than five years. There is a special focus on businesses utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and those with green initiatives. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. 

2. IYBA-WE4A Entrepreneurship Programme: Launched in partnership with the European Union (EU) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), this programme focuses on women entrepreneurs with green business ideas or businesses in select African countries including Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, and others. Applicants should have businesses that are no older than five years, and participants must be at least 18 years old. 

3. Aguka Ideation Programme: In collaboration with the UNDP Rwanda and the Rwandan Ministry of Youths and Arts, the Aguka Ideation Programme is aimed at young entrepreneurs in Rwanda, aged between 18 and 30, who have innovative business ideas. The programme offers seed capital of $3,000 to help develop these ideas into viable businesses. 

Application Process: 

Platform: Applications must be submitted through TEF’s digital platform, TEFConnect. 
Application Period: The application window is open from January 1, 2025, to March 1, 2025. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications well before the deadline. 
Eligibility: The programmes are open to African entrepreneurs with scalable business ideas or existing businesses no older than five years. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
