Nigerian content creator Denilson Igwe has sparked a fresh controversy after responding to Mark Angel’s claim of losing $3.7 million (approximately N5.7 billion) in a forex trade.

Mark Angel had shared his 2024 experience on Instagram, calling it a tough year due to the significant loss. In his post, Angel also mentioned the personal scandal he faced when Denilson Igwe criticized him on Nedu’s podcast. Additionally, Angel revealed that Emmanuella and Success, two of his key collaborators, had left Mark Angel Comedy.

In response, Denilson Igwe wasted no time dismissing Mark Angel’s claims, accusing him of dishonesty. He took to Instagram with a pointed message, writing, “Lies na water, some people are just worse than devil.” This cryptic post has triggered a heated debate online, with fans revisiting the creators’ troubled history.

The tension between Denilson Igwe and Mark Angel are not new. Back in 2024, the two were embroiled in a public fallout when Denilson accused Mark Angel of exploiting their team. Igwe claimed that despite the comedy channel reportedly earning $160,000 a month, Emmanuella, the popular young comedian, was paid only N20,000 a month. Furthermore, Denilson alleged that Mark Angel concealed the monetization of their social media pages and withheld substantial earnings from the team.

Denilson Igwe has consistently asserted that he is the true founder of Mark Angel Comedy, the YouTube channel that gained popularity in 2013. The channel now boasts over nine million subscribers and has amassed more than a billion views.
