Mohbad’s brother to Yomi Fabiyi's allegations

Adura Aloba, the brother of late singer Mohbad, has denied allegations made by actor Yomi Fabiyi that he knows the cause of his brother’s death and demanded ₦3 million to provide evidence.

During a press conference, Fabiyi had claimed that Adura contacted him on Instagram, alleging to have a video showing Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, pushing the singer down the stairs during an altercation. Fabiyi further alleged that Adura offered to sell the video for the stated amount.

In response, Adura dismissed these claims, describing them as unfounded. Speaking at a press conference on Friday, he said, “Firstly, I do not have much to say. This thing is in court already, so I do not need to say much. I cannot know about my brother’s death and keep quiet all these days. I am now so surprised. This video we are talking about is like three years ago. And I was not the one that did the video; it was Moh himself on the phone I sold to Damola. And the video was on that phone.”

He clarified his role in the matter, adding, “I was the one who chatted with Mr. Yomi. And I had tried to make him understand. (Facing Fabiyi) You were invited, and they told you who was chatting with you. And you insisted on the TikTok live. I saw everything on the TikTok live.”

Explaining further, Adura said the video was created by Mohbad over three years ago and remained on his phone until Adura sold the device. “When I sold the phone to Damola, about a week later, I started seeing his messages with Mr. Yomi,” he explained.

Adura also accused Fabiyi of misrepresenting the situation to damage his reputation. “Mr. Yomi is trying to tarnish my name that I did it,” he said.

Mohbad, a celebrated singer, passed away on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances, leading to widespread speculation and ongoing investigations into his death.
