Late Alaafin’s Family Issues Last Warning To Queen Dami

The family of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, has cautioned his former wife, Queen Dami, against tarnishing the monarch’s name during interviews.

This warning follows remarks made by Queen Dami in an interview with journalist Esabod Aboderin, where she referenced the late Alaafin while addressing issues with her former partner.

In the interview, Dami claimed, “When I was in the Palace, the king didn’t allow us to work, but I was selling fabrics online without his knowledge. Concerning Alaafin’s daughter, who said my son is not for the king, we never got along while I was in the palace. That’s why she made such a claim. I’m ready for a DNA test to confirm the truth.”

Responding to her statements, the late monarch’s family issued a warning through a post on the Instagram page of Aminat Adeyemi, one of the late king’s daughters. The family strongly advised Dami to stop mentioning their father’s name in interviews or online platforms and hinted at possible legal action if she continues.

In their message, the family emphasized that Dami is not the only widow of the late Alaafin and criticized her recent conduct as embarrassing and inappropriate.

The post included a letter written on the official letterhead of the late Alaafin of Oyo, though it was unsigned. It carried a caption that read, “On behalf of the ADEYEMIS’ Dammy be warned officialqueen_dami Okó melo lówà nidi bàbá yen abi…dey play To be forewarned is to be forearmed.”
