Osimhen Finally Speaks Out Alleged Assault On Journalist
By Gideon Ayeni

Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has strongly denied allegations of assaulting a journalist in Istanbul, Turkey.
Osimhen, who is currently on loan from Napoli, described the claims that he attacked a journalist as a baseless attempt to tarnish his reputation.
The journalist, Tolga Bozduman, alleged that Osimhen became aggressive when he and his colleagues attempted to photograph the striker. Bozduman claimed the footballer punched him during the encounter, saying, “We filmed Osimhen at the exit with three of my colleagues. When the flashes went off, he went wild. He ran towards me screaming. He tried to take my camera, but I didn’t let go, and he punched me. It still hurts.”
Osimhen, however, vehemently denied these accusations after scoring the decisive goal in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday. Osimhen provided his account of the incident, accusing the journalist, Bozduman of fabricating the story.
According to Osimhen, the incident began when paparazzi suddenly approached him with cameras as he exited a restaurant with friends.
“I was coming back to go into my van, and these guys just popped out of nowhere with cameras in my face. I was shocked,” Osimhen said. “Obviously, you’ve seen the video online. I was asking them, what is the problem? Why did you pop out with a camera in front of my face? They said they were paparazzi, and I asked them what they wanted, but they didn’t say. They just kept taking pictures.”
Osimhen clarified that his friends intervened to address the situation but denied any physical confrontation with the journalist. “I never punched this guy or hit him. I told him to delete the pictures because I have every right to ask for that. But instead, he lied about the entire situation,” Osimhen added.
Osimhen accused the journalist of having an agenda and vowed to pursue legal action. “This is a case of violence, and he lied. If I hit him, he will get justice, but if he’s lying, he will face the wrath of the law,” Osimhen stated firmly.
Describing the incident as an attempt to damage his reputation, the Nigerian international reiterated his commitment to clearing his name through legal means.
Victor Osimhen’s denial and call for legal redress underline his determination to address the allegations and protect his image in the face of what he considers false accusations.
