Senator, Shehu Sani has advised Nigerians in the United States currently hiding to avoid deportation procedures set up by President Donald Trump administration to return home.

Senator Shehu Sani has advised Nigerians in the US hiding from the deportation measures set up by President Donald Trump to come out of hiding and return home.

Senator Sani gave the advice following the threat of mass deportation against illegal immigrants in the United States. Reports indicate that thousands have already been sent back to their home countries.

Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his thoughts and advice, urging Nigerians caught in the deportation wave to accept their fate and come back home.

He wrote:

“Nigerians in the US hiding from Trump’s deportation should just humbly come back home.”

Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that Human rights lawyer Dele Farotimi has condemned the extension of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun’s tenure, insisting that he should have retired in line with constitutional provisions.

Speaking in an interview with News Central, Farotimi criticized President Bola Tinubu’s decision to extend Egbetokun tenure, stating that it undermines the rule of law. He also backed Omoyele Sowore, the former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), who had earlier accused the government of flouting legal procedures.

“Nigeria as a legal entity is built on lies and contradictions, where laws rarely matter. If they did, then Yele (Sowore) is absolutely right—the Inspector General of Police is illegally in office because he has exceeded his time,” Farotimi said.
