Nigerian businesswoman May Edochie has facilitated the arrest of comedian Uzoma, popularly known as Baba De Baba, following his allegations of kidnap and attempted murder against her.

A few days ago, Baba De Baba took to social media to make sensational claims, accusing May Edochie and her lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, of plotting to assassinate him. In a video posted on his Instagram page, he alleged that a suspicious car had been trailing him while he was on his way to town.

The comedian further raised alarm with the news that rocked Nigeria over the disappearance of his son, insinuating that May Edochie and her legal representative might be responsible. His allegations quickly went viral, sparking widespread reactions online.

In a fresh development, Emeka Ugwuonye has confirmed that Baba De Baba has been arrested on charges of cyberstalking, cyberbullying, and other related offenses. According to the lawyer, law enforcement agencies had been monitoring the comedian for two weeks before executing his arrest.

The case is expected to unfold as legal proceedings take their course.

Meanwhile, in other news, GWG.ng reports that the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed rumors suggesting the return of the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS), emphasizing that the controversial unit remains dissolved.

In a statement released on Sunday, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reaffirmed that SARS, which was officially disbanded on October 11, 2020, has not been reinstated under any reformed structure.
