How Senator Natasha Once Accused Reno Omokri Of Sexual Advances
By Benjamin Abioye

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who recently accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment, had previously made similar claims against former presidential aide Reno Omokri.
The senator representing Kogi Central alleged in a recent interview that Akpabio had harassed her and that she was being punished for refusing his advances. This accusation has sparked a legal battle, as Akpabio’s wife, Unoma Godswill Akpabio, has filed multiple defamation lawsuits against her, demanding N250 billion in damages.
This is not the first time Akpoti-Uduaghan has made such allegations. In October 2021, she accused Reno Omokri of sexually harassing her during a state banquet held on May 6, 2014, in honor of then-Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. She made this claim in a Facebook post, alleging that Omokri made unwanted advances toward her.
In response, Omokri strongly denied the accusation, offering a $50,000 reward to anyone who could provide a photo or video proving he was at the event. He later released evidence, including a British Airways ticket and immigration stamps, showing that he was not in Nigeria at the time. According to him, he was in the United States on an assignment from then-President Goodluck Jonathan to counter negative publicity over the Chibok schoolgirls’ kidnapping.
Omokri also shared photos of himself with U.S. State Department officials from that period. Following this, Akpoti-Uduaghan reportedly deleted her post and all related claims from her social media. Omokri later revealed that he had received a significant sum as part of an out-of-court settlement.
With her current accusations against Akpabio now making headlines, many are recalling her past claims against Omokri and questioning the pattern of her allegations. The legal battle between Akpoti-Uduaghan and the Akpabios is ongoing.
