A young Nigerian boy, Chidera Ikeoha, who gained attention for writing a book while in Primary 6 and selling it in motor parks, has been awarded a lifetime scholarship.
Chidera’s inspiring journey was shared in a viral post on X (formerly Twitter), where he was seen visiting parks in Enugu to promote and sell his book. The post, which also featured a photo of the book’s cover, quickly captured public interest.
Following the overwhelming response, EduCare, an education-focused organization, stepped in to support Chidera’s academic future. The group announced that he would receive a lifetime scholarship, ensuring he continues his education without financial worries. Additionally, EduCare pledged to publish his book on Amazon and provide full backing for his literary ambitions.
The initial viral post introducing Chidera read: “Meet Nigeria’s youngest author, Chidera Ikeoha, who wrote a book in Primary 6 and went from park to park selling it in Enugu.”
Hours later, a follow-up update confirmed: “Chidera Ikeoha has been awarded a lifetime scholarship by EduCare. His book will be listed on Amazon, and he’d be taken off the streets to focus on his education.”
As the news spread, netizens flooded social media with congratulatory messages, hailing Chidera’s resilience and the generosity of EduCare. Many expressed hope that his story would inspire other young talents in Nigeria.
