How Tinubu Is Using Gov Uba Sani Against Me – El-Rufai

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has accused his successor, Uba Sani, of working against him on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.
Nasir El-Rufai has claimed that President Bola Tinubu has tasked Gov Uba Sani who succeeded him as governor with weakening him before the 2027 elections.
El-Rufai made these remarks during an interview with Freedom Radio Kaduna. He responded to Governor Sani’s recent comments about the debt accumulated under his administration, suggesting that they were part of a larger scheme.
According to El-Rufai, the federal government fears he might challenge Tinubu in the future and has convinced Uba Sani to discredit him. “The reason Uba Sani is making these statements is that he was given a contract. He was given a contract that says: ‘Go and tarnish, destroy, and politically cripple Nasir El-Rufai because we believe he will fight Tinubu in the future.’”
He further alleged that the government promised financial support to Kaduna State as a reward for Sani’s cooperation. “They told him, ‘We will continue to give you funds to execute projects, and you can loot as much as you want, but just ensure you deal with this man because he is a threat.’ That is the contract Uba Sani accepted,” El-Rufai stated.
These allegations have added to the growing tension between the two political figures, fueling speculation about deeper political struggles within the ruling party.
