Comedian Mocks Lawmaker Who Gave Motorcycle Tyre For Empowerment (Video)
By Gideon Ayeni

A fresh wave of controversy has erupted online as popular Kogi-born comedian, Sarkin Dariya, takes a swipe at Hon Ibikunle Idowu, the Minority Leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, over his recent empowerment initiative.
The comedian’s mock came days after a viral video surfaced showing Idowu, who represents Yagba West Local Government, distributing motorcycle tyres to his constituents. The footage, shared by X user @ChuksEricE, raised many unanswered questions, with many questioning the relevance of such an empowerment scheme.
Amid the backlash, Sarkin Dariya, a graduate of Kogi State University, added a comic twist to the controversy. In a trending video, the comedian is seen rolling a motorcycle tyre with a stick—mimicking how children play—with the phrase “Yagba West, enter!” in a playful jab at the lawmaker.
The video has sent the social media abuzz, with users debating whether the lawmaker’s gesture was an act of goodwill or a misplaced priority. While some found the comedian’s reaction hilarious, others argued that lawmakers should focus on more impactful projects.
As the reactions continue to pour in, Hon. Idowu is yet to address the controversy surrounding his empowerment initiative.
Meanwhile, GWG.ng reports that Honourable Idowu motorcycle tyre empowerment comes at a time when the people of Kogi Central are making efforts to recall the first female senator in Kogi State, Senator Natasha who is currently facing six months suspension from the house of assembly.
