Wike’s Camp Tackles Obidients Over Collapse Stories
By Gideon Ayeni

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed widespread rumors alleging that Wike collapsed at an event in Abuja.
Social media platforms, particularly TikTok and X, have been flooded with claims that FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike had not only collapsed but had either been flown abroad or even passed away.
Some users even circulated an alleged “obituary photo” to fuel the speculation.
However, Wike made a public appearance on Sunday, leading a delegation of FCT community leaders on a Sallah visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House, effectively shutting down the rumors.
Reacting to the controversy, Olayinka took to his official X handle to accuse Nigerian actress Hilda Dokubo of orchestrating the false reports. He alleged that Dokubo and others staged the fake obituary and even engaged in rituals to support their claims—all in a bid to curry favor with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Olayinka further suggested that Fubara had been misled by those pushing the narrative, adding that both Hilda Dokubo and another political figure, Ikenga Ugochinyere, had taken advantage of him.
