Barcelona Dortmund

Barcelona will play against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday night.

The Spanish giants will host the German side at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Barcelona.

Barcelona are having a great season so far. They are on top of La Liga and will play in the Copa del Rey final soon. Now, their focus is on the Champions League, and they hope to win this first-leg match to gain an advantage before travelling to Germany for the second leg.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund, last season’s Champions League finalists, have not been very consistent this year. Although their new coach, Niko Kovac, has made some improvements, they have struggled in the Bundesliga with defeats to teams like Bochum and Augsburg.

Barcelona will be missing some key players, including goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen and forward Dani Olmo, due to injuries. However, defender Andreas Christensen is back in the squad. The team is expected to line up with Lewandowski leading the attack, supported by young stars like Gavi and Yamal.

Dortmund also have injury problems. Defender Nico Schlotterbeck will miss the rest of the season, while other defenders like Niklas Sule and Ramy Bensebaini are doubtful. In midfield, they will be without Pascal Gross and Marcel Sabitzer.

Barcelona won the last meeting between these two sides in December, with a thrilling 3-2 victory. This time, Barcelona are favourites again and will aim for a comfortable win at home.

Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Borussia Dortmund.
