Lady Cancels Wedding Man Abroad

A Nigerian lady has canceled her wedding just days before the event, reportedly choosing to marry a man based abroad after her mother introduced him as a potential suitor.

A Nigerian lady has canceled her wedding just days before the ceremony on April 22, reportedly ditching her fiancé for a man based abroad. The cancellation repeatedly followed traditional engagements and payment of dowry.

The wedding was scheduled for April 22, 2025, but the lady allegedly canceled it after her mother introduced her to another man who lives overseas.

This incident was shared on the microblogging platform, X, by the user @talk2veee, who posted about the cancellation. The post read, “WEDDING CANCELLED💔❌,” followed by details about the couple’s relationship and the new situation. According to the account, the bride’s mother had arranged for her to marry the man abroad, leading to the cancellation. The post also mentioned that the lady’s fiancé, Isaac Chijindu Victor, was devastated by the situation, with a message of sympathy reading, “TAKE HEART MY BRO😢.”

Social media reactions to the cancellation have been mixed. One user, @Nemonwa, commented on the foreign-based man’s role in the situation, saying, “The abroad guy is the Mugu here, how you agree to marry a girl that has been in a relationship leading to marriage is just a MuMu act.” He warned that the situation could end in heartbreak, suggesting that the bride might be pregnant and unaware of the circumstances.

Others, like Mr_DaveChigozie, expressed surprise and were eager to get more updates about the story. He said, “This my home guy aaaahhhhh.. Make I chat am up for more update.” Meanwhile, @PidginGuyHQ offered a more humorous take, suggesting the man should celebrate his freedom, “God don save the guy, he should be rejoicing. Me sef I go still invite people to come and eat the rice.”

There were also comments praising the man who had been left at the altar. @IamEriOluwa congratulated him, saying, “Congratulations to him. He won. God saved him from the clutches of selfish and insatiable in-laws.” Another user, @Yusithetrader, expressed little sympathy for the bride and criticized her for allowing the relationship to go on for so long. “I blame the bride for allowing it to get this far,” they said. “Why did she go back after returning the engagement ring? She shouldn’t have let him pay dowry at all. She dodged a bullet either way.”

The situation has sparked various reactions online, with some feeling sympathy for the jilted fiancé, while others criticize the bride for her actions. The incident highlights the complexity of relationships, especially when family and outside influences get involved.
