PDP Governors’ Forum Backs Koshoedo As Acting National Secretary
By Gideon Ayeni

In a move aimed at maintaining stability within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the PDP Governors’ Forum has endorsed Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, to temporarily assume the role of National Secretary.
The decision comes as the party awaits the official appointment of a substantive secretary from the South East, in line with its established zoning formula. Koshoedo’s interim leadership is expected to ensure continuity in party operations during the transition period.
The forum also used the opportunity to address growing speculation about possible political alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a firm declaration, the PDP governors made it clear that the party is not considering any coalition or merger talks at this time.
According to the forum, the PDP is currently focused on strengthening its internal structures and positioning itself as a strong, independent force heading into the next electoral cycle.
This development signals the party’s intent to maintain internal cohesion while preparing strategically for the road to 2027.
