14 Edo-Members-Elect Endorse Ize-Iyamu

14 members-elect of the Edo State House of Assembly have thrown their weight behind Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as the only governorship aspirant to contest the  APC primary with Governor Goodwin Obaseki come June 22.

The group in a press statement jointly signed by 14 of them and made available to journalists in Benin City, the Edo State capital, they also welcomed the direct primary method proposed by the National Working Committee, NWC of the party.

They said:

“On behalf of the members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and all the lovers of the principles and practice of democracy in Edo State, Nigeria and the world at large, we the entire 14 members-elect of EDHA, also known as the Integrity Group, congratulate PASTOR OSAGIE IZE-IYAMU, the crowd puller, the man of the people and a known grassroots mobiliser, on his emergence as the consensus aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the forthcoming Edo State gubernatorial primary election.

“In same vein, we appreciate the maturity, sincerity and unity of purpose demonstrated by the other hitherto aspirants, Viz: H E. Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr Chris Ogiemwonyi, Gen. Charles Airhiabhere Rtd, Hon Saturday Ughelekhue, Prof Dr. Amadasun, Hon E J Agbonayinma and Chief Solomon Eidebiri.

“As we prepare and look forward to the June 22 and Sept 19, Edo Governorship primary and main elections respectively, we also use this opportunity to remind all and sundry, that democracy, can not be adulterated.”

Recall that 14 members-elect of the 23- man- Assembly were not among those inaugurated following the proclamation of the House by Governor Godwin Obaseki last June.
