Big Brother Naija star Mercy Eke has explained how peer pressure played a big role in her decision to have the BBL surgery.

In an interview on the “Love is a Game” show, Mercy Eke shared that she was initially nervous and hesitant but decided to proceed with the BBL.

She said, “To be very truthful, it was the trend at the time. I think this was around 2018 and it was the trend, peer pressure and everyone was doing it. I had a very good form and it wasn’t bad, the stomach was too much.”

Mercy admitted she was scared about the procedure and kept it secret from her mother to avoid discouragement. She and two friends planned and paid for the surgery together.

She described the recovery process as challenging, saying, “Getting your body massaged after the surgery is the painful part. Not being able to sleep on your bum for about 14 days means you have to lay on your stomach. The massages the nurses give you to bring the water out are also tough.”

Despite the difficulties, Mercy Eke feels the BBL surgery was worth it.

Regarding rumors about facial surgery, Mercy clarified that she has only had lip fillers, not facial surgery. She explained, “People keep saying that I touched my face, so I keep posting throwbacks for them to see. I have only touched my lips; I had fillers done, and they dissolved after three months. I feel like people need to be more educated.”
