Ndume Asks Tinubu To Address Escalating Hardship

Months after he was rebuked for drawing the attention of the Bola Tinubu government to the hardship in the land and the corruption in the government, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume has again opened his mouth.

Senator Ali Ndume has raised the alarm over the increasing economic hardship faced by Nigerians due to soaring fuel and food prices.

In a statement issued from Abuja, Ndume called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene urgently to mitigate the economic hardship confronting Nigerians, attributing the worsening crisis to the influence of misguided advisers promoting harmful economic policies.

The senator expressed concern that some individuals within the administration are undermining President Tinubu’s genuine efforts by pushing for policies that have resulted in rising inflation, a high exchange rate, and deteriorating living conditions for ordinary Nigerians, especially the most vulnerable.

“The sharp rise in the prices of fuel, food, and essential services is unbearable for many families,” Ndume stated.

He highlighted that the economic hardship is particularly severe in northern Nigeria, where many citizens are struggling to make ends meet. “People can barely afford to feed themselves,” Ndume stressed, adding that high fuel prices are preventing farmers from transporting their produce, further driving up food costs.

“Traveling from Abuja to Maiduguri has become a luxury few can afford, and the rising cost of living is pushing people to the brink,” he lamented.

Ndume emphasized that the current economic policies are putting immense pressure on the Nigerian populace, and urged President Tinubu to urgently reconsider these measures before the situation worsens. He warned that the patience of Nigerians is wearing thin, and immediate action is needed to prevent further deterioration.

“The purchasing power of the people is too weak to withstand these constant price hikes. It’s critical that the President acts now, before it’s too late,” Ndume warned.

In his closing remarks, the senator encouraged the President to implement policies that will reduce the current economic hardship and restore hope to a nation in distress. “Nigerians are looking to their leaders for relief, and it’s time for the government to deliver,” he concluded.
