PSG Targets Osimhen In January Transfer Bid
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly planning a January bid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray.
Galatasaray has consistently stated since November 2024 that Osimhen will stay with them until the end of the 2024-2025 season. However, PSG is prepared to test this with a substantial offer.
PSG’s lackluster performance this season, especially in the Champions League, has driven their search for reinforcements. While the team remains unbeaten in Ligue 1 after 13 matches, they have struggled in Europe, winning just one of five group-stage games and putting their knockout-stage chances at risk.
Osimhen, on loan from Napoli, has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s success this season. His exceptional form has propelled the team to the top of the Turkish Süper Lig and strengthened their position in the Europa League.
Last year, PSG offered Napoli €100 million for Osimhen after his stellar performance led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years. Napoli rejected the offer, and PSG pursued other targets. During the last transfer window, PSG was linked to Osimhen again as they sought a replacement for Kylian Mbappé, who moved to Real Madrid, but Napoli’s valuation discouraged the move.
Reports from French journalist Daniel Riolo suggest PSG manager Luis Enrique considers Osimhen a key player to revitalize their campaign. While PSG has the financial means to make a tempting offer, Galatasaray remains firm in keeping the striker for the season. Osimhen has also affirmed his commitment to finishing the season with Galatasaray in Istanbul.
