Kwara Govt Overcomes Protesters, Pulls Down Saraki’s Property

The make-shift property erected by the late Senate Leader, Senator Olusola Saraki for the feeding of the less privileged has been pulled down by the Kwara State Government.

The property was pulled down early on Thursday by officials of the Kwara State Government under heavy security cover provided by a detachment of policemen.

The officials escorted by about 50 policemen arrived as early as 3.00 a.m. were rebuffed by supporters of the Saraki family and beneficiaries of the handouts from Ile Arugbo.

Women who flocked the property to protest were overcome by police

The policemen had to call for reinforcement of more anti-riot policemen and were finally able to commence the destruction of the property by about 4.00 a.m.

The property was acquired by the late Saraki through his company, Asa Investments Limited but the present administration has claimed that the property was irregularly acquired and revoked the claims of the company to it.

Scion of the family and immediate past Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki has rebuffed the governor.
