Many Nigerians who are vexed by the situation of their country are showing lack of empathy to political leaders who have tested positive to COVID-19.

As at the time of filing this report, the county has recovered 52 cases of Coronavirus, with highly placed politicians tested positive to the pandemic. Political leaders like Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari; a son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar,Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, the Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Frank Okiye have tested positive to the virus.

As result of this development, many Nigerian politicians, who have made contact with the infected politicians have already isolated themselves. President Muhammadu Buhari and his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo have tested negative.

Since the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan Province of China, it had spread across several nations of the world, leading to 21, 524 deaths and 114, 832 people had recovered from the virus.

Sequel to this outbreak, countries have taken preventive measures like total shut down of all economic activities, restriction of gatherings and travel ban. These have hindered the movement of people from country to another.

When the news broke out  that some  Nigerian political leaders have tested positive to the virus, angry Nigerians, took to the social media, to express lack of empathy to them, with many arguing that the current state of health facilities in the country is a result of the incompetence and corruption of our political leaders.

Many said that Nigeria political leaders refused to build world class hospitals in their constituencies, and prefered to travel abroad for medical treatment.
