Police DPO Kidnapped in Edo
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Fugar Police Division, CSP Ibrahim Aliyu Ishaq has been kidnapped around Ise river along old Auchi – Ekperi- Agenebode road in Edo State, PRNigera has reported.
PRNigeria gathered that the kidnappers have contacted the family of the police officer for ransom payment.
CSP Ishaq before his deployment some years ago, had served as DPO in Dakata Police Division in Kano State
The kidnap of the DPO is coming in the wake of continued concern about insecurity in the country with many citizens being held by kidnappers across the country.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that besides the news that the Police DPO in Edo, CSP Ishaq was kidnapped, that the Edo government on Thursday, took to some major streets in the Benin and communities hosting the state’s forest reserves to sensitize the residents against illegal logging and bush burning.
The Acting Team leader, Edo State Oil Palm Programme Implementation Office, Mr Churchill Oboh, while addressing journalists in Benin on the dangers associated with bush burning and illegal logging, also assured of moves to educate residents on the need to plant trees.
According to him, “Today we are sensitizing the good people of Edo at this time of our lives for all of us to come together to protect the environment. We have also identified certain things that we need to do and the once we need to avoid.
