Arrest Of Ladies Found In Hotel Room With Dead Abuja Prince Condemned
The arrest of three ladies and a man allegedly found in a Suleja, Niger State hotel room where an Abuja prince, Malam Sa`adu Abubakar died has been condemned.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that the police in Niger State as part of their investigations into the mysterious death of the Abuja prince who was also the son of the Chief of Pai, Gwagwalada, had arrested three young ladies and a man who were in the hotel room with him when he died.
It was also reported that based on the pressure from the family of the victim that the corpse of the prince was released for burial.
However, a concerned stakeholder who spoke to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG on the issue expressed concern on why the three ladies were incarcerated by the police when the evidence that would otherwise have been used to prosecute the case had been buried.
“This is the way we go about bad governance in the country. The arrest of the three ladies based on circumstantiala evidence is entirely wrong. How long are they going to keep them in custody when there was no autopsy and no investigation to discover how the prince died.
“I am not saying the ladies are innocent or guilty but the fact is that there is no evidence to be used in investigating their culpability because the evidence which is the corpse has been buried.
“So, my take is that those in detention should be released except there is a way we kind get the evidence to use in prosecuting those in custody,” the stakeholder who spoke following the publication of the story in  GreenWhiteGreen GWG said.
