Court Remands 12 Suspected Killers Of Ogun Monarch

A magistrate court sitting in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government of Ogun State, remanded twelve suspected killers of the Olu of Agodo, Oba Ayinde Odetola.

Recall that Oba Odetola was on January 24 killed and burnt to death by some persons in Agodo.

The monarch had visited a portion of land in the village to clear the grave of his late brother when he was attacked alongside three others.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Zone 2, Onikan Lagos recently arrested and paraded some suspects arrested in connection with the murder of the late king.

It was said that about 50 hoodlums, led by one Gbeminiyi Sotade, had stormed Agodo to attack the monarch, who the arrested suspects said was killed for being a land grabber.

In his ruling, Magistrate O. F. Adeduntan, ordered that the accused be remanded in Oba correctional facility, while adjourning the matter to June 17, 2022.
