Governor Nyesom Wike has dammed critics of his increasing drift from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, urging party members against his affiliation to party rivals to go have high blood pressure if they so choose.

GWG.NG had reported that Governor Wike had in the week ahead lined up a series of projects for commissioning and inauguration with notable rivals of the PDP being invited for the events.

Besides President Muhammadu Buhari who has been scheduled to commission the Nigerian Law School annex in Port Harcourt built by the Rivers State Government, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, an erstwhile political sparring partner of Governor Wike has also been invited to commission a project on Wednesday.

Wike and Oshiomhole dragged themselves two years ago when they were in opposite ends in the Edo State governorship election in which Wike prevailed on behalf of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

Reacting to mutters on Monday over his inclination to rival political figures, Wike said:

“Those who are saying why am I not inviting them to commission projects, you invite me to commission in your own place. So, I have a choice to invite whosoever I want to come and commission projects.

“On Wednesday, Adams Oshiomhole will come and commission. On Thursday, Peter Obi will come and commission, (applause)

“On Friday, President Buhari will commission the Nigerian Law School. On Monday Kwankwanso will come and commission.

“So, I choose those I want to come and if you want to have a high blood pressure, it is your business,” Wike said in a subtle dig at critics within the PDP over his inclination to party rivals.
