Ahead Of G5 Declaration, Obasanjo, Fayemi Visit Wike (PHOTOS)

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo along with former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi, on Thursday visited Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, albeit separately.

Obasanjo’s visit is the latest in a series of visits to the country home of Wike by politicians across party lines ahead of the declaration of the G5 governors on their intention concerning the presidential election.

Wike, who is a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has been at loggerheads with the main opposition party leadership after the presidential primary that produced Atiku Abubakar as the PDP presidential candidate.

Wike and other aggrieved PDP governors tagged G5 have been calling for the resignation of PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

Fayemi, the immediate past governor of Ekiti State was also seen in another picture visiting Wike.

GWG.ng reports that the visit of the two men is coming ahead of the expected announcment of the direction of the G5 governors on the presidential candidate that they will support for the February 25 election.

Obasanjo is backing Labour Party candidate, Mr Peter Obi while Fayemi is queueing behind the APC candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The G5 governors have ruled out support for their party candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the separate visits of Obasanjo and Fayemi to Wike is expected to heighten expectation on the direction of the rebel PDP governors.
