Uk Student Nurse Brings Bomb To Maternity Unit

A student nurse resentful of a fellow colleague and egged on by Islamic terrorists has been charged with plotting to attack an air force base in Britain after he was accused of bringing a homemade bomb to a hospital maternity unit where he worked.

Prosecutors claim that Mohammad Farooq, 27, was in possession of a “viable” pressure-cooker bomb that included 13.7 kilograms (30 pounds) of a handmade low-explosive concoction when he was apprehended outside St. James’s University Hospital in Leeds, northern England, on January 20.

Farooq allegedly conducted “hostile reconnaissance” of a Royal Air Force facility in England earlier this month after being urged online to attack it, according to the prosecution.

He is accused with one count of conspiring to prepare a terrorist act in relation to the air base plan, which the prosecution claims was inspired by Islamic extremism.

Farooq is also accused of having a fake gun and having an explosive chemical in connection with the hospital incident, which the prosecution claims was brought on by resentment toward another employee.

On Friday, January 27, Farooq appeared via video link at Westminster Magistrates’ Court; he was not required to enter a plea. He was given the order to be detained until his upcoming court appearance on February 3.
