It was ‘vawulence‘ galore as Nigerians descend on a Serie Twitter account after posting a photo of Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with the caption ‘A new king is crowned in Napoli’.

GWG reports Napoli defeated Udinese to deliver the Partenopei’s first Scudetto since the 1989/90 season and their third ever courtesy of Nigerian star boy Victor Osimhen.

The 24-year-old scored 22 goals and provided four assists in 29 league games to help the team maintain a 16 points lead with five games to go.

Similarly, Kvara was also instrumental in the triumph, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in his first season in the Italian top flight.

In a bid to celebrate his greatness, a Twitter account, Lega Serie A crowned Kwara ahead of Osimhen – a development that stirred angry reactions from Nigerians.

Nigerians react

Late football legend Diego Maradona guided the team to victory the last time Napoli won the Scudetto. Osimhen has been the face of Luciano Spalletti’s winners.

The controversial image depicting Diego Maradona wearing a crown for Kvaratskhelia did not sit well with Nigerians who felt their boy Osigoal as he’s fondly called, is the poster boy.
