Hilton Cooperating With Police After Guest Wakes To Find Hotel Staff Sucking On His Toe
A hotel guest is planning to sue a hotel chain after he says he woke up in the night to find a member of staff sucking his toes. Peter Brennan, from Texas, was staying overnight at the Hilton Downtown Nashville hotel on March 30 for a work conference.
However his night’s sleep was allegedly interrupted at around 5 am when hotel employee David Neal, 52, let himself into Mr Brennan’s room.
According to Nashville Metropolitan Police he had cloned a key card to let himself in and when Mr Brennan woke up he found his toes were in Neal’s mouth.
Mr Brennan said: ‘I instantly jumped up and was screaming. Went into a sort of fact-finding mode. Who are you? Why are you in my room? What are you doing here?
‘I could see he was wearing a uniform, he had his name tag on. He was talking to me but not giving me any substantive answers.’
Neal, reportedly the night manager of the hotel, claimed he entered the room because he could smell smoke, but no other guests or staff had reported smelling smoke that night. He was arrested at his home in nearby Lebanon, Tennessee and was charged with aggravated burglary and assault.
Mr Brennan says he still doesn’t ‘really feel safe in my own home’ following the incident, and is suing both Neal and Hilton Hotels.
A Hilton spokesman said: ‘Hilton Nashville Downtown is independently owned and operated by a third party and no Hilton entity employs staff at this property. The safety and security of our guests is our top priority and Hilton takes matters such as these very seriously.’
A separate statement from hotel management said: ‘The safety and security of our guests and team members is our highest priority. We are working closely with the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, and, as part of company policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.’
